Roughsawn "fireside" bench

so started w an old 5 panel door

built the frame, notched and shaped the armrests

jigsawed and ground down the top

stripped it down to paint it

paint is biscuit white w a burnt finish

the bench gets its color from the burning process

all polly'd

while the polly was drying i got the seat and back cusions
covered in a leather print vinyle

the pics do this thing no justice...it looks so much better
in person

its going to get sold in the morning.....kinda like it wish i could
keep it!!

this thing is a hair over 7' long

Roughsawn Computer Desk

so i have a stack of old farm doors i have been trying to figure
out projects with, so why not make a desk

so the doors make up the backs of the cabinets

the drawrs i salvaged out of a kitchen from early sixtys, so
that makes them vintage.....i think!

hard to tell, but that slab is 27" deep and 2 1/2" thick

planed and sanded, ready for finish

this top is 2"thick and 24"wide

the top is all one piece the miter has 6  1"dowls 8"long.
getting them to line up and fit together snug was a mother bear!

the cabinets are attatched solid to the doors so there are
only 4 pieces to the desk. the top, drop in leaf, left and right
cabinets.

i dropped the leaf to make room for keyboard and ?????

mocked up the "vintage" doors

distressed the doors

installed glides for the printer tray

finished the top

the hardest part was drilling holes to rout all the cables and
 cords....i almost cried!!!

everything fit.....

all done!!!!

Roughsawn Wall Decor

so these sayings and picture are some my wife picked up
somewhere  and oneday i just decided to frame them for her!!

so it is roughsawn fir $12, red laquer toner $6, burnt finish $0,
semi gloss poly $4......the hug and kiss i got for it...$priceless$

this would look good in green or white also!!! hmmmmm..
the wheels start turnin!!

Old Farmhouse Door/Chair Thingy

so this is a 1930's farmhouse door w skeleton key lock
and is extreamly weathered

the armrests are carved from roughsawn as well as the
support dowls, seat, and lower shelf

starting to tear it all apart to glaze and laquer the door

so the door is the original faded green w/a dark walnut
rubbing glaze, and the chair is biscuit white w a burnt finish

my favorite seat in the house!

giant wear pattern.....well from were your buisness end sits.....
we will just leave that one alone!!

Roughsawn Tv Stand w/Entertainment Cabinets

cabinets and stand b4 finish

stand is my fav..hand selected top and shelves took me a while
to find just the right ones

cabinets are just over 5' tall 30"w x 24"d
the stand is almost 30"tall 5'w x 24"d

this thing is over 9' end to end

these old wood windows are 24"w x 60"t
perfect for the doors!

cabinets are leapfrog green and natural w/ burnt finish

finished on all sides

set up and ready to go!!

now if i could just build a newer tv!!!!!
